Electrical Stimulation
Interferential Current - is a form of electrical stimulation that uses four electrodes surrounding the part of the body to be treated. The frequency of each set of two electrodes are out-of phase with each other. It is used for treatment of large and broad regions of the body. It is used to relieve pain and reduce swelling.
Russian Stimulation - is a specific form of electrical stimulation with a polyphasic wave form. It was originally developed by the Russian Olympic team to enhance muscle mass, but is in the United States it is most often used for pain control.
Microcurrent - is a level of electrical currents that are in the millionth of an ampere range. Therapeutic microcurrent stimulation is usually at a level several hundred to a thousand times less intense than conventional milliamp electro-stimulators.
